Followers of our blog might think we were slacking but in the last months we worked continuously on Cobalt.

We fixed lots of little bugs, improved the database, worked on the usability. Some of the new features:

Cvs export option for contacts, invoices out, invoices in, payments

Quick inline editing of invoices in/expenses

Quick inline editing of payments

Possibility to link multiple invoices to a payment

Internal transfer option in payments section

We’re happy to announce a new report template that will make your accountant or board smile: the profit & loss statement. This report gives an overview of all revenues, costs and expenses incurred during a specific period of time. Of course Cobalt sorts everything for you on a project-basis and categorizes everything as well.

In other words, the profit and loss statement is a record of the business trading activities over a given period of time and is in cobalt automatically sorted on a project-basis. For us it works as the number one report as it tells you in detail which projects are doing well and which aren’t.

In the screenshot above: “B02 Bath Toys - Stack cups” is a project (or product if you want) and “600 Advertisement”, “601 Marketing”,… a basic chart of account list which can be managed in Cobalt in the Settings > Cost Type tab.

We’ve been slowly but steadily working on Cobalt the last month. A lot of small little bugs are fixed and of course still some open tickets on our list.
Meanwhile we want to inform you about two little updates:

• It’s possible now to create a draft invoice in the invoice in section. just check “draft” and the invoice will appear in a different color. A small update but makes for us a huge difference. At our office we mainly use it for invoices that we expect and that we want to budget, or to highlight an invoice that we still have to double-check in the future.
• the css is updated. The screen is a bit wider and we made a different print style, so that if you print you’ll only get the data on the page.
