Making it public

We showed Cobalt to five good friends one week ago and slowly informed more friends that were close to us. We’re also very slowly making more promo for the application, as we want to see if any weird bugs pop up and be able to react fast to it. The little bugs that popped up (of course there were some) are processed now. With the invoice & payment framework we can now start thinking about the next things we gonna do. We have a “big want & to do list” of course and we’ll have to decide what will make it or not. We’re working now on an export function and a “profit and loss statement”.

The time has come!

After a seemingly endless number of months in development, we’re finally ready to unleash Cobalt. We’re very happy to finally put the first version online and can’t wait to hear from you. Of course we know it’s still not perfect, but we love 37signals Getting Real concepts and think real world feedback is the way to go.

What is Cobalt? Aren’t there enough accountancy applications?

Yes, we know there are lots of accountancy things available, both offline as online. But our experience told us you have a lot of both end sides and hardly anything for the small companies that are trying hard to organize themselves. You have excellent small apps for personal use, tons of invoicing tools, many time-tracking tools, and of course expensive pro-accountancy tools. What we needed was a tool to manage budgets and keep track of expenses and payments from a project angle. If we organise or sell something then we want to know how the project is doing. That’s exactly what Cobalt aims for. Hope you like it.
